There are few superlatives to do this exceptional Kriek justice. Thankfully, there are a number of coveted medals to it's name to do that job instead. At this year's World Beer Awards it was named 'Best Kriek in the World' and also 'Best Sour & Wild Ale in the World'. Brouwerij Boon occupy a special place in the Lambic brewing community. Frank Boon's story of taking on old equipment and a cellar back in 1975, to develop a globally loved brand, is a source of inspiration to many. Along the way he's dispensed wisdom, lambic, and even bottling services to many others that have trod the same path. he brewery is now in the hands of two of his sons, Karel and Jos, and they carry his legacy forward each day, further developing the brand. A delicate traditional fruit beer based on Belgian “Schaarbeekse” cherries and lambic. 270 grams of cherries per litre create an intense, wine-like and elegant cherry aroma. This together with the accessible alcohol content make it an ideal tasting beer for food pairing or as an aperitif. The Boon Millésime was bottled on 19 Oct 2021 and is refermented in the bottle. Feel free to let the bottle continue to age for a few years.
